What we do
At T1 Lithium we build our batteries using individual Winston Thundersky™ LiFePO4 cells. Each of these cells is 3.2V and we pack them in parallel and in series to give an even flow of charge into and out of the whole battery.
We build a complete battery of the size you want. We don't prebuild a whole lot of batteries of one size all connected together - this does not work. In our Technical Section, we explain why this doesn't work.
We stock four sizes of cells so that we can offer a variety of power options and sizes of battery to suit an available space.
It's also preferable to use a certain number of cells to build a battery, so that any differences in internal resistance and capacity that are inherent in mass production, are evened out over sufficient cells to minimise and cancel these differences,.
For example, we would build a 200Ah battery out of 8 x 100Ah cells, rather than 4 x 200Ah cells.
This gives our customers a range of power options, but also a range of sizes, as each capacity of cell varies in height and width, as shown in the table below. This range allows us to build a battery that will fit in the space available in the vehicle.

We've built 12 volt, 24 volt and 48 volt batteries, but 12 volt is the most common and the easiest to manage for an RV and this is what we supply the most. It's also much easier to buy or repair 12 volt appliances and lighting than 24 or 48 volt.
Our most popular capacity for RVs is 400Ah. Depending on how much solar you have and the age of your air con, you can expect to be able to run your air conditioner on this amount of lithium.
